DESCRIPTION:

Decks wrap around the full length and width of the house on three sides, all but the South side front of the house. There are 625 sq ft of deck on the East side, facing the ocean. 500 sq ft of deck are on the West side overlooking the swimming pool and facing the river. Nearly 200 sq ft of deck connect the two on the North side of the house. All of the upstairs bedrooms open onto these decks with sliding glass doors. A set of stairs goes down from the West deck to the West patio and the swimming pool. Another set of stairs goes down from the East deck to the lawn on the dune between the Beachside patio and the ocean. One can go from any of the bedrooms to the pool or the beach without passing through any other part of the house. The large East and West decks have new subflooring covered with rubberized roofing material, and over that indoor-outdoor carpet. All decks, railings, and stairways were newly rebuilt with pressure-treated lumber in 1997.
